I was reading Bad Mommy's blog. I would post a link but I don't know how to do that but you can find her under my list of blogs that I read.
Anyway she posted a link to one of her other blogs where she talks about putting the twisty knobs on her daughter's bedroom door to keep her INSIDE the room. We did this with Xavier as well. Within two months he figured out how to work it. Someone posted a comment on how their child was able to figure out how to open the door. So she put duck tape around the knob. I was thrilled, there was hope!
This is what Xavier's knob looked like at 8:30PM
I don't know if you can tell but there are about 3 layers of tape on this bitch
Why do I do this you ask? Why would I want to lock my precious child in his room?
Every morning I wake up and do some pretty amazing gymnastic moves to avoid stepping on him. Just when I think it's safe and I'll be able to get ready for work all by myself. I hear it... "Hey, Mama... it's me Zabier, I'm up." and I die a little bit inside. Why? Because he's going to follow me round begging for poptarts and BRANKS (drink) while I'm barely able to function myself.
This is what I found at 8:32 PM
As you can see he is quite proud of himself.... and I was owned by a 3 year old yet again. Defeated, I decided to blog and ask for your help. Help me fellow mommy's of escape artists!

Bad Mommy, it didn't work

Tubby Tubby two by four, Chris and Lindsey can't get through the bedroom door.
I'm super excited for Turkey day... I'm gonna get my grub on like there's no tomorrow. Which I have to admit I should NOT after the family picture fiasco.
So Joel's tooth ended up not being bad at all. You can't even see it in the pictures. We went to Portrait Innovations for our family pictures. I love that place because you get two people. The picture taker and the person to entertain the kids. Instead of doing all kinds of background swaps they just move you to different rooms. PLUS you get your pictures back the same day. Even with the 2 million people that were there we were in and out in an hour. That was doing pictures, having them load them on the computer, and then picking which one's we wanted. That's pretty damn good.
The pictures though.. mmmm nah so good. They had us standing up. I think they did this because we are fat and thought that it would stretch the rolls out so we didn't look like such fat asses.... it didn't work.
We got the pictures anyway.
We did go out to eat at Joe's Crab Shack and that was AWESOME... so what the hell we got to eat.
Seriously though Wii Fit is on our list to buy eachother for Christmas. We have got to lose some weight for this wedding. I'm not trying to buy our wedding gear at Des Moines Tent and Awning.

Merry Christmas from the Hillbilly's
We had our plan for Family pictures for Christmas... today I get a call from Joel's school
school: "Joel chipped a tooth, we found the other piece, but he needs to go to a dentist"
me: "he just chipped it... but there was a piece so big you could FIND it"
school: "well he broke it"
I arrive at school and there is my son with the worst snaggle tooth I have ever seen.
Chris takes him to the dentist. They put some compound on it but it's still a snaggle tooth.
Family pictures are scheduled for Sunday
Tooth cannot be repaired until Dec. 31st
shhiiiiiiiiiitttttt
Chris says have him do a half smile... I'm debating.
Maybe shove a chiclet in there?

Selfish...
So as you all know Chris and I plan on marrying in March. This weekend was the weekend from hell. He had the funds to purchase a ring for me, he knew this since Wednesday. So on Saturday he gets up and goes looking at a ring. Comes home kneels on one knee and asks me to put out my hand. I'm in tears. As I put my hand out he slaps my hand... empty handed. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I did a little of both. I admit he felt bad after doing it. After telling me about these two beautiful rings he found he asks me to go with him to pick out the ring. I'm so excited, this is it, this is really it... we get there and the store closed 45 minutes prior. I was let down yet again. I realized maybe this is a sign that we aren't to marry. I get over it, Chris tells me I'll get my ring on Monday. He sets it up for his sister to come over and watch the kids on Monday so he can get my ring. This morning I ask "hey, are you going to drive your sisters car today? Or do you need me to leave the car" "I'll just drive Rachel's car"
I'm anxious all day at work... so excited at 3:45 the phone rings it's him telling me that his sister hasn't called yet. I ask if he's even tried calling her to see where she is. He says no... of course... this isn't important to him. I don't hear from him again. I come home at 4:30. I walk in the door there he sits in shorts and a t-shirt. "Oh Rachel can't come, can you come home early tomorrow and I can go then"
I'm crushed, disappointed. I even rushed home early so he could take the car up. It's 4:30 they're open for another half an hour. I tell him not to worry about it. I'm hurt, crushed, disappointed, and embarassed for being all of those things.
I start to clean, it's what I do when I have mixed feelings. I tell him not to worry about it. Yes, I'm being passive aggressive but I'm hurt.
He gets mad "Great now I have to deal with a crabby bitch all night, you are so fucking selfish" I get called every name in the book. I'm a cunt, on and on and on.
It's Ok, he's only saying this because he knows he fucked up.
Here come the excuses "what am I supposed to do, I don't have a car?!?!?"
Really hmmm didn't I ask if you would need the car this morning?
Now he's irritated I'm giving Xavier a bath because HE didn't. He's on his third day, and that's fine but fuck, give him a bath during the day. He says that he KNOWS he was going to give one after he got up and ate. That could've been his plan but I'm sure it wasn't.
I ignore him. Continue cleaning.
He's yelling, I don't speak.
He calls his mom, she's not there. Who knows what that was all about.
I again tell him not to worry about it. If he's not concerned about it then why should I be?
He wants to know why I have to have it now?!?! What's the big deal?!?!
I don't know why it's such a big deal. It just hurts. It really hurts that it's not important to him. When the expansion pack came out for his stupid fucking video game he was in line at MIDNIGHT to get it.
I don't say anything.
Now he says he'll get it on Saturday. No, you can't, we have your nephews birthday party and your mom's Thanksgiving dinner. Just don't worry about it.
It's just another disappointment in this chapter of our lives.
If he put in as much energy into finding a part-time job, or getting a ring as he does into his video game. Shit, I'd have a 4 carat ring, and he'd had a part time job lined up BEFORE he quit his full time job.
I'm selfish
It's all about me
I'm selfish
and deep down I know it's true
I tell

Something witty-- I'll fail you
Nothing much new here. Just doing a little wedding planning. We found our wedding and reception site, for a pretty decent price and my dad said he'd pay half the deposit without me begging... shocking to say the least. My dad also snagged some of my grandma's costume jewelry when they were going through her stuff. I'm super excited about that!
Oh... and wedding dress shopping. I admit I am dreading going to the actual stores. I'm fat, and it's gonna be hard to find a big girl dress to look good. I'm not GOT DAMN THAT'S A BIG BITCH Fat. I'm more of the "Oh if she dropped 40-50lbs she'd be hot" right now I just look like a mom.. gimme a break I just popped out a kid 2 months ago... I really have no plans on dropping weight before the wedding. It's a nice thought, but it's not a reality so I say fuck it. Anyway as I peruse the wedding dresses I realize I want sleeveless because. I know this because I wore a short sleeved wedding gown in 2004 when I was center of attention that day. It was quite uncomfortable. I couldn't lift my arms. Then I'm like if I get strapless I have huge ta ta's we're talking DD's and I'm not even 5 foot tall. I'm gonna worry my ta's are hanging out. I also have tattoos on my shoulder blades and as much as I love the meaning of them I don't want them in my pictures. Then there's the style with the wide straps... That would be OK, but most don't have the rest of the shape I'm looking for and I have a really broad back and I'm afraid my back fat would ooze through them.
Chris is still just the house bitch. He still hasn't found a part time job... I'm not as pissy about it as I thought I would be. Though three weeks BEFORE he was supposed to become house bitch I informed him that he needed to have a part time job. Here we are 3 weeks POST house bitch and nothing. His mom has been all over his ass though. It makes me giggle. It's like he thinks everyone is waiting for him to show up.

The uber romantic proposal
How Chris and I decided to tie the knot is so "us." To say we're not romantic is a total understatement. I can't exactly share this story with our family so I will share it here.
When Chris requests boom boom more than once in a week I always get him to leave me alone by telling X to ask his daddy when he's going to marry mommy. The response is normally "FINE I'LL GO DOWNSTAIRS" this time the answer was "fine, let's do it" and that my friends is the romantic proposal/decision.

For Amywawa-- -my answers
I never asked for free health care, only the opportunity to bring home more of the money my husband and I work so hard for. Don't you?
Yes, absolutley I would love to have more money on my paycheck. With Obama the cost of your healthcare should go down... though your paychecks will go down too... because in order to pay for the universal healthcare taxes must go up. Right now I get to choose my healthcare. I'd rather pay higher for the right of choice than to pay more and have the government decide for me.
I can't believe you really think that everyone is going to suddenly realize that they could bring home the same amount of money if they just go sit at home and collect welfare and food stamps. Ever try to live off welfare and food stamps?-
This may shock you but yes, as a matter of fact I have lived on welfare From Nov. 1998-Feb.1999. The system failed. With how the system is set up it doesn't help you get a leg up when you're down. It's either all or nothing. It's not set up to help you get on track. It's set up to make you dependent on it. All I wanted was help with my medical, and a little help with daycare. I was told "Sorry, you have to take free health care, and free daycare. You can't work, you have to take foodstamps, we can get you into an apartment for $25.00 a month AND we'll pay you to go to a University. Oh and we'll give you $300.00 a month free money" Great, that's great but really I just want help with daycare cost and health insurance. I make $10.00 an hour and at the time that was TWICE the amount you could make and get help with.
Public hospitals?- OK, you got me on this one. I'll give it to you. I've only had experience with the Des Moines public hospital.. Broadlawns- and it's a sh!thole. I wouldn't take my dog there.
As far as guns, I don't allow them in the house. I have kids and I'm not interested in having one of them end up in some sad story on the news. Also, not sure where you heard or read that Obama was going to be getting rid of the 1st and 2nd amendments.--I hate guns too, but it is our right to bear arms. So because some people are ignorant and don't practice proper safety by keeping their guns locked up we should all have our rights taken away? You only hear about the incidents where kids get a hold of guns. Of course you never here "tonight on the news at 6 Joe Blow has raised 5 kids in a house with guns and nobody was killed because he practiced proper gun safety"
Here is your link on Obama and his stand on guns:http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/barack_obama_gun_control.htm
Now, as for Freedom of Speech there's the Fairness Doctrine which Democrats HEAVILY support. Democratic Congress, Democratic President hmmm this too will pass. http://www.museum.tv/archives/etv/F/htmlF/fairnessdoct/fairnessdoct.htm
These are my answers. We must agree to disagree. I will say that I am hoping for the best, and I hope Barack proves me wrong. I still love you AmyWAWA!!!

I've said my piece... now lets move on.
OK, I'm done getting all worked up over the new president. Let's talk about life. Well as you all know I went back to work in October. My grandma did pass away that first week back. It was awful, but she is was 91 years old and she was only living at home assisted for 2 weeks. So she had a really good 91 years. Christmas is going to be weird this year. I don't have any grandparents left.
Chris and I have decided to tie the knot. March 21st. I'm excited. It went from being a Justice of the Peace thing to a full out wedding. I'm thinking 40's theme with black, white, and a touch of purple. My two BFF's Whitney and Kristi are my bridesmaids. We're going wedding dress shopping on Sunday... I'm so excited!!! It's not going to be an extravagant wedding as we are paying for it ourselves but it's going to be nice.
Leo finally started to put on some weight.
Xavier is still naughty... not AS naughty but let's just say I'm happy that I'm not the one stuck at home with him all day.
Joel, my poor Joe-lo. I stopped therapy, I don't like his therapist. I'll find another one if needed. So far we are dealing ok on our own. We are struggling with him growing. He's the size of an 8 year old (he's 10) so we're getting x-rays done to determine what the cause is of his stunted growth. His ears are draining like crazy again so we are going back to the ENT.
Good news though!!! My job has just started the Flex Spending debit card for next year so I'm taking full advantage of that. I was just telling Whitney yesterday teh reason I didn't have one is because it was the kind where you had to get reimbursed and I'm just too lazy, and can't afford to pay for something twice at one point.
That's all for now... I need to start working on the weight but for now I'm content with being the same fatness as I was after I had X.
Ciao

Today, for the first time I'm ashamed to be an American
WTF ARE YOU PEOPLE THINKING. STUPID STUPID STUPID.
Hello Socialism!
Well, the only positive thing that has come out about this is it shows how much the country has grown. We have elected a black president.. too bad he's an awful choice!
My only other hope is there will now be an end to "hate" crimes. Crimes are crimes!! No more Affirmitave Action (we're all equal now), and Jesse Jackson will be out of a job because he no longer has anything to bitch about!!!
I can see how people fell for Obama, he's a wonderful speaker.... and so was Hitler.
